Why it is renowned

In 2017 the American cycling site Bikerumor covered the Cargo TT, a one-off version of the Triobike cargo built by hand in carbon fibre with a frame of 5,960 g, kept on show in the Copenhagen flagship store.1 Triobike sells through dealers in the United States, Canada and Australia and across Europe, among them Austria, Belgium, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway and Italy.2 It has worked with Royal Copenhagen, Calvin Klein, Cycling Without Age and Bauhaus.3

The story

The hafnia was designed and developed at the company's headquarters in Copenhagen,4 and the first prototypes of the cargo model were tested and adjusted over many years in extreme weather.3 Triobike was the first cargo bike company to be safety tested by the Danish Consumer Agency and the first to fit five-point seat belts for children.3 The two-wheeled Triobike cargo has a one-piece aluminium frame with side wings bent in three dimensions and carries up to 230 kg;5 the three-wheeled hafnia and Boxter have angled front wheels against tipping and a box of 280 litres.46
