Why it is renowned
FRAMA sells its furniture, objects and care products from Copenhagen and from a shop-in-shop in the Parco department store in Tokyo, opened for its care range.12 SURFACE, the New York design magazine, made its founder a Designer of the Day in December 2025.1 The Modern House in London profiled him and his house in 2020, and Vogue Scandinavia calls FRAMA an internationally established design studio.34
The story
Niels Strøyer Christophersen set FRAMA up in Copenhagen in 2012 as a practice for furniture, objects and interiors in natural materials.3 It began with wooden furniture and lighting and now also makes skin care and perfume.4 Its works include the Shelf Library shelving system.5
In October 2020 FRAMA opened Apotek 57, a small bakery and eatery, in its studio store; the wine bar Bar Vitrine and the coffee bar Cabin in Store Kongensgade followed; Cabin is furnished and stocked with FRAMA pieces.12
