Why it is renowned
Kadeau Bornholm received a Michelin star in 2016, the first restaurant on the island to do so, and a Michelin Green Star in 2023.1 Its sister restaurant, Kadeau Copenhagen, was No. 41 on The World's 50 Best Restaurants list in 2025.2
The story
The chef Nicolai Nørregaard and the sommelier Rasmus Kofoed, childhood friends from Bornholm, opened Kadeau in the spring of 2007 in the old beach pavilion at Sømarken, just south of Pedersker.31 Since 2011 it opens only for the summer, and the whole team moves from Copenhagen to the south of the island for the season.3 The restaurant's own garden, less than a kilometre away, was started in 2012 by Nørregaard's father and supplies both Kadeau restaurants with herbs, fruit, vegetables and honey.1
