Why it is renowned
Frederikshøj has held two Michelin stars since July 2022, after a first star in February 2015.1 With Henne Kirkeby Kro it is one of the two restaurants outside Copenhagen with two stars in the Michelin Guide's 2026 edition.1
The story
There has been an inn at the address on Oddervej, south of Mindeparken in Aarhus, for more than two hundred years; it first belonged to Marselisborg Palace.1 Palle Enevoldsen took over Frederikshøj Kro in 2006 and made the chef Wassim Hallal his partner in 2009; since December 2011 Hallal has been sole owner and head chef.1 In 2011 the Danish restaurant guide Den Danske Spiseguide named it the best restaurant in Denmark.1
