Why it is renowned

Domestic holds one Michelin star and has kept it in every edition of the Michelin Guide from 2022 to 2026.1 It is one of four starred restaurants in Aarhus in the 2026 guide, with Frederikshøj, Gastromé and Substans.1

The story

Domestic sits in a backyard in the Latin Quarter of central Aarhus, at Mejlgade 35B.2 The kitchen uses only produce from small suppliers in its own region, and the seasons set the menu: in autumn, organic vegetables, partridge from the wetlands of northern Jutland, mushrooms and shellfish.3 From the start the aim has been cooking at a high level served in a low-key, homely room.3
