Hotel Bella Grande

Why it is renowned

Condé Nast Traveler lists Hotel Bella Grande among its hotels in Copenhagen, for its interiors and its Italian restaurant, Donna.¹ The MICHELIN Guide includes it in its hotel selection for Copenhagen.²

The story

Hotel Bella Grande fills a historic building a few steps from City Hall Square, where travellers have stayed since 1899.³ It is the second hotel of Copenhagen Food Collective (Cofoco), a Danish group that also owns Coco Hotel and 18 restaurants in Copenhagen.³ Cofoco has shaped the city's restaurant scene since 2004.³ The 109 rooms and suites were renovated throughout, and the ground floor holds Donna, the group's Italian restaurant.³ The central courtyard has striped banquettes and a chequered tile floor; the rooms have parquet floors and mirrors.² The room keys hang on red tassels, and the bathrooms are tiled red and white.¹ The junior suites are on the fifth floor, and the two suites each have a roof terrace.⁴ The hotel runs on power from Cofoco's solar park in Jutland.³
