Why it is renowned

Who What Wear's guide to Copenhagen beauty picked its Daily Hydra Cream among the Danish skincare to know, and a Copenhagen interviewee in the same piece uses its new shampoo for thick hair.¹ Vogue Scandinavia features the brand and quotes its founder, Martin Lyne, on skincare.² Its products are used by hotels, spas and saunas abroad, among them Akelarre in San Sebastián and the Aethos hotels in London, Mallorca, Sardinia, Ericeira and the Aosta Valley, as well as places in New York, Zurich and Maastricht.³

The story

Woods Copenhagen began in 2014, when Martin Lyne went looking for gentler care for his twin daughters, who had atopic eczema.⁴ He studied ingredients and formulation and worked with Scandinavian experts and dermatologists to build the range.⁴ The products are made in Denmark.⁵ The range is mostly face care: cleansers, serums, masks, sun care and creams such as the Daily Hydra Cream, made with hyaluronic acid, sea buckthorn and aloe vera,⁶ and the Ultra-Rich Cream for dry skin, with 3% niacinamide and 2% vitamin C.⁷ A smaller hair line holds nourishing and volumizing shampoos and conditioners.⁸
