Why it is renowned
KÆMPE, Danish for "giant", is the largest of the three Plus-Plus sizes, the same shape as the small piece that Scandinavian kindergartens and schools have built with since the 1980s.12 Children build with their whole bodies: towers, obstacle courses, domino runs, animals and vehicles, indoors or outside, at home, in schools and in day care.3
The story
KÆMPE takes the Plus-Plus shape, two plus signs joined, and scales it to 290 by 174 millimetres; each piece weighs 145 grams.13 The pieces are designed and made in Denmark from PE plastic.3 They come in a set of fifteen, three each of white, yellow, green, red and blue, or as single pieces.34
