Why it is renowned

Alouette has held a star in the Michelin Guide since February 2019,¹ and it is listed among Denmark's one-star restaurants in the 2026 edition.² The guide has since added a Green Star, its award for sustainable cooking.³

The kitchen builds its menu on Danish produce from named farms and makers, such as pork from Hindsholm on Funen.³ Dinner is a single tasting menu of 12 to 15 servings over about two and a half hours, with non-alcoholic and wine pairings.⁴

The story

Alouette, French for lark, opened in May 2018 on Islands Brygge and later moved to Kronprinsessegade, near the King's Garden in central Copenhagen.¹³ It is owned by the chef Nick Curtin and Camilla Hansen.¹

The dining room has an open kitchen, and coffee and last bites are served afterwards in a lounge.³⁴ A private dining room seats up to 20 guests around its own kitchen and open fire, beside a walk-in wine cellar.⁵
