Why it is renowned

The story
The German chef Rainer Gassner met the newly trained chef Mette Hvarre at Aagaard Kro near Egtved; together they opened Ti Trin Ned in Fredericia on 9 September 2001.1 The restaurant began in cellar rooms on Norgesgade and in 2019 moved to a new 400-square-metre building on Fredericia harbour.1 The dining room looks over the Little Belt, and the menu follows the seasons and local produce.3
