Why it is renowned

In January 1999 Bruuns Bazaar showed in Paris during fashion week, its breakthrough abroad.12 Reporting from Copenhagen Fashion Week in 2014, The Guardian counted it among Denmark's leading designers.3 Vogue keeps its Copenhagen Fashion Week collections for fall 2015 and spring 2016 among its runway reviews.4

The story

The brothers Teis and Bjørn Bruun founded Bruuns Bazaar in Copenhagen in 1995.1 Susanne Rützou, trained at the Margrethe School in Copenhagen, was its head designer and artistic director until 1999, and started her own label in 2000.2

The house designs womenswear and menswear, with a younger line, BZR.1 In 2009 the Bruun brothers invested in the Copenhagen fashion house Baum und Pferdgarten and became co-owners.5
