Why it is renowned

The wine and spirits magazine Falstaff gave the Refined Edition 91 points in its Nordics tasting of 2025, and lists it among the 36 highest-rated spirits from Denmark.12

The story

Refined is made from 100 percent malted organic Danish barley, part of it cold-smoked.3 It matures in toasted casks of 100 to 225 litres, some of virgin Hungarian oak and some seasoned with the distillery's own blend.34 The seasoning gives it the spice and herbal notes of Danish bitters, with hints of licorice and toasted rye bread.3 It builds on the distillery's Raw single malt, adding the smoked malt and the seasoned oak; Rare is its line of one-off releases.4 Batch No. 3 came out in 2025 and is bottled in 700 ml.53
