Why it is renowned
Daily Coffee News reported the grinder's launch on 1 September 2026, the day its Kickstarter campaign opened.1 April made it as the last piece of the brewing system it began with the April Brewer in 2019, followed by paper filters, water minerals, servers and cups.21
The story
The grinder is made with the Chinese coffee equipment maker Timemore around a set of 48 mm April Gen1 conical burrs.1 Its handle and body panels take their lines from Copenhagen furniture design.1 An outer collar sets the grind, with 10 numbered settings and 10 clicks between each, and a thumb rest steadies the grinder in use.1 It weighs 950 grams: Patrik Rolf, April's founder, chose taste with the April Brewer over portability.1 April says it made the grinder to brew in its own shops, at home and in competition.2 Shipping to Kickstarter backers is due to end by January 2027, after which April plans to sell it in its own shops and online.1
