Why it is renowned

Blossi received a Special Mention at the German Design Award 2019, in the category Excellent Product Design, Lighting; the jury singled out how it joins Scandinavian design with LED technology.1 It was among the four collections Nuura showed at its debut at the Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair in 2018.2 The design site Design Milk featured its portable table lamp, the Blossi Table Mini, which works indoors and outdoors.3 The Danish magazine Bo Bedre named the Blossi Table Mini one of its design favourites in 2025 and in 2026.4

The story

Sofie Refer designed Blossi for Nuura with the golden light of the Nordic autumn in mind, when sun falls through coloured leaves.53 A specially developed LED module sits in a golden metal disc and sends its light upward into a mouth-blown glass shade, which reflects it back as an indirect, warm glow.5 The range runs from chandeliers with six and eight shades to a pendant, wall, floor and table lamps.6 The Blossi 6 is the smaller chandelier, meant for rooms with little space.5 The Blossi Table Mini has an acrylic shade and a rechargeable battery, and its LED disc can be replaced.3 The finishes are nordic gold with clear glass and black with opal, and the Table Mini also comes in chrome with clear glass.6
