Why it is renowned
It is the house's first chocolate-coated liquorice, the product Johan Bülow developed in 2009 when he set out to coat his liquorice in chocolate, an idea people in Denmark at first doubted.1 The maker names it the first product of that idea, the start of its liquorice with chocolate.2
The story
In 2009 Johan Bülow coated his liquorice in chocolate, a pairing long popular in Iceland. Danes were sceptical at first, but A – The Original followed: a sweet liquorice core in milk chocolate, rolled in liquorice powder.1 It is made in Denmark and is free of gluten and gelatine.2
