Why it is renowned

OMNIUM took first and second place in the cargo race at the Cycle Messenger World Championships in Lausanne in 2013, its first appearance abroad.¹ The American cycling site The Radavist has reviewed both the OMNIUM Cargo and the Mini-Max, and its reviewer rode the Mini-Max for more than a year in Santa Fe.² The company ships bikes worldwide and sells through dealers.³

The story

Jimmi Bargisen, a Copenhagen bike messenger, drew the first OMNIUM himself in a basic CAD program to carry bulky parcels, and found a frame builder in Taiwan.¹ The first prototypes arrived in 2012, the same year he and former colleagues started the courier company By-Expressen, and the bike won the local race Svajerløbet that year.¹ The design follows a semi-recumbent tandem, with the load platform where the front rider would sit.² The name comes from the omnium, the track cycling event decided on overall results.¹
