Why it is renowned

Rudolph Care calls the oil its icon and its signature product.12 Scandinavia Standard describes it as a cult favourite in Copenhagen.3 Vogue Hong Kong named it first among the house's products in its 2019 guide to Danish beauty brands, and counted it among the house's award-winning products.4

The story

The oil is almost nothing but açai oil: the only additions are a small amount of vitamin E, which preserves it, and a trace of the house's own scent.1 It is sold in 15 ml and 30 ml sizes.15 The açai berries are picked by hand in Nazarezinho do Meruú, a community of about 250 families in the Brazilian state of Pará, which has supplied Rudolph Care since 2009.12 The berries go by boat to a local partner, where they are dried in the sun and processed into oil; the oil is then shipped to Denmark and made into the finished product there.2 Açai oil is rich in omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids, and the facial oil keeps the berry's smell of nuts, trees and forest floor.1 It carries the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, Ecocert COSMOS Organic and the Vegan Trademark.1 In 2023, 2024 and 2025, Rudolph Care set aside DKK 100,000 a year from sales of the 30 ml bottle for a multi-sports court in Nazarezinho do Meruú.5
