Why it is renowned
Mini beads are the smallest of Hama’s three bead sizes, half the width of the Midi bead.1 Hama makes them for jewellery, decorations and small, detailed designs.2
The story
Hama added the Mini bead in 1978, seven years after its first beads.3 A Mini bead is at least 2.5 millimetres across and 2.5 millimetres long, and has pegboards made for its size.1 Hama recommends it from the age of ten.1 Like the other sizes, it is laid on a pegboard and fused with an iron, a method Hama brought in at the end of the 1970s.3
