Why it is renowned
Søllerød Kro has held one Michelin star since 2007 and is listed in the Michelin Guide through the 2026 edition.12 It is one of the older restaurants in Denmark, set in a village inn from 1677 that faces the Søllerød pond in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen.1
The story
The inn dates from 1677 and was listed as a protected building in 1964.1 It was opened by the pastor of Søllerød Church, who had obtained a licence from the king.1 In the 1980s it built a reputation as one of the best restaurants in the country, and under head chef Jakob de Neergaard it took its first Michelin star in 2007.1 Brian Mark Hansen has led the kitchen since 2013, cooking from a classic French foundation that follows the seasons.13
