Why it is renowned

Marchal holds a Michelin star and is listed in the Michelin Guide through the 2026 edition.12 It is the restaurant of Hotel d'Angleterre on Kongens Nytorv in central Copenhagen, joining French technique to Nordic produce.2

The story

Marchal opened in 2013 in Hotel d'Angleterre at Kongens Nytorv 34.2 It is named after Jean Marchal, a French servant who married Maria Coppy, daughter of the royal chef.2 The kitchen is led by executive head chef Alexander Baert, who reworks French classics with Nordic ingredients.2
