Why it is renowned
The watch magazine Fratello calls the Guardian Nordgreen's flagship model. Nordgreen studied each stage in the making of a mechanical watch to give this one the smallest environmental impact it could, and screened every mining and manufacturing partner.1
The story
The Danish designer Jakob Wagner drew the Guardian. It is made of 85 per cent recycled 316L stainless steel under a sapphire crystal, and a Japanese Miyota Caliber 9039 automatic movement drives it, so it needs no battery. The case comes in 36 and 40 mm and is water resistant to 10 ATM; the 40 mm model measures 41.5 mm across and 7.97 mm thick.2
