Why it is renowned
The Pioneer is Nordgreen's 42 mm quartz chronograph.1 It won a Red Dot design prize in 2020, one of ten watches honoured that year in a competition that drew entries from more than 60 countries.1 Red Dot notes its clean dial and the red tips of its hands, which recall the tips of Danish wind turbines.2
The story
The Danish designer Jakob Wagner designed the Pioneer, a 42 mm chronograph with a stopwatch function and several sub-dials.32 It has a Japanese Miyota quartz movement, a case of 316L stainless steel and a domed sapphire crystal, and is water resistant to 10 ATM.3
