The story

Line Jacobsen worked as a lawyer for more than seven years before she founded Anpé Atelier in 2017.² The idea came from a trip to Sri Lanka in 2015, where she saw the island's coloured sapphires and the gem trade behind them.² She sketched designs for two years while still working as a lawyer, and left law six months after the launch.² The name joins Sinhala and Scandinavia.³ The house uses only natural gemstones, and its best-known design is the cluster ring.³ Jacobsen picks the larger stones herself, mostly from mines in Sri Lanka and Madagascar.² Each piece is made by hand in 14 or 18 carat gold, and a made-to-order piece takes six to eight weeks at the goldsmiths.⁴ Clients meet the designers by appointment in the Copenhagen showroom.⁵
