Why it is renowned
The restaurant at Hotel Frederiksminde holds a Michelin star and is one of 42 starred restaurants in Denmark in the 2026 Michelin Guide.12 In 2026 the Michelin Guide also chose it for Mindful Voices, among the first restaurants in the Nordic countries to be named.2
The story
The hotel stands 50 metres from the shore of Præstø Fjord, in a building from the end of the nineteenth century that has been restored with its old architecture kept.2 It has 19 rooms, each furnished differently with classic furniture and antiques: 13 doubles, three singles, two junior suites and a suite.2 The kitchen cooks from the sea, woods and fields of south Zealand, with local fishermen, growers and producers.2 Silje Brenna leases and runs the hotel, and Mulla Yalcin has been head chef since 1 January 2026.2
