Helenekilde Badehotel
A seaside hotel of 27 rooms on the Kattegat coast at Tisvildeleje, north of Copenhagen, built as a summer house in 1896 and a hotel since 1904.

Why it is renowned
Helenekilde Badehotel is a member of the international hotel association SLH.12 It has been covered by Condé Nast Traveller, Forbes, Bloomberg Businessweek, The Observer Magazine and The Sydney Morning Herald, among others.3
The story
The Supreme Court barrister Grüner built the house as a summer home and gave it to his wife in 1896.4 In 1904 it became a summer and bathing boarding house under the name Helenekilde Badehotel, and a side wing followed in 1968.4 The Kølpin family bought it in 2001, and Alexander Kølpin renovated it in 2008, keeping its style and architecture.4 Its rooms look over the Kattegat, and it has a restaurant, Kilden, a sun deck on the cliff and a sauna by the beach.2
