Why it is renowned

Hypebeast interviewed Won Hundred's founder Nikolaj Nielsen in 2011, ahead of the Spring/Summer 2012 menswear collection, describing a ready-to-wear range that ran from denim and T-shirts to outerwear and suits.1 In 2023 the Milan magazine nss marked the label's twentieth year, naming its denim roots and its earlier collaborations, among them a limited-edition stool with Fritz Hansen and a deadstock denim project with (di)vision.2 Vogue Scandinavia reviewed its autumn/winter 2024 show, "Surrender", at Copenhagen Fashion Week, where dark double denim and panels cut from deadstock denim marked the jubilee.3

The story

Nikolaj Nielsen founded Won Hundred in Copenhagen in 2004.2 He had left school at 16 and worked for the denim companies Diesel and Miss Sixty before starting his own label.1 He remains its creative director.3 Its collections are built around denim, with women's and men's jeans listed next to seasonal jackets, shirts and knitwear.4 The 2024 jubilee collection added more knitwear, wool outerwear, suiting and leather to that denim core.3
