The story

Sophia Roe and Charlotte Eskildsen started The Garment in 2020, and Eskildsen is its creative director.145 For its debut season it staged a presentation, with the entry line running around a Copenhagen block.4 Its first runway show came for autumn/winter 2022, held at the Andersen Contemporary gallery in Copenhagen.4 The founders describe an aesthetic that balances "a proud masculinity" of relaxed tailoring and oversized cable knits with "a delicate femininity".4 The house continues to show at Copenhagen Fashion Week; its autumn/winter 2026 collection was presented in the Langelinie Pavilion and drew on the Danish architect Eva Koppel.5 For the SS27 season the brand was screened by Copenhagen Fashion Week's sustainability committee and confirmed compliant with its minimum standards.1
