Why it is renowned
Cecilie Bahnsen was one of the finalists of the LVMH Prize for young fashion designers in 2017.1 A year earlier she had won the Danish Design Talent Award.2
The story
Cecilie Bahnsen took an MA at the Royal College of Art in London and worked for international fashion houses before starting her own label in 2015.2 She works with traditional techniques in new ways: simple, feminine shapes carry fine embroidery and layers of sheer and opaque fabric.2 The label is independently owned. It left its first studio on Kristianiagade for a two-floor space at Vermundsgade 38C in Østerbro, with the design studio and atelier on the top floor and a showroom below.3 Patchwork curtains there are sewn from upcycled fabric from past seasons, in the spirit of its Encore collection.3
