The story
Malene Birger graduated from the Danish Design School in 1989, co-founded Day Birger et Mikkelsen in 1997 and started By Malene Birger with IC Group in 2003.23 She sold her share in 2010 and left as creative director in 2014.2 In 2020 the house took on a new visual identity, with a monogram and new shops.3 Emilie Martinsen-Kønigsfeld is its creative director, and its spring 2027 show was staged on her parents' estate outside Copenhagen.1
