Why it is renowned

Anne Sofie Madsen showed her first collection at London Fashion Week in 2012, a year after founding the label.1 She went on to show a spring 2017 collection in Tokyo, and in 2015 she won the DHL Exported award for the collections she took there.1 WWD reviewed her spring 2018 ready-to-wear collection in Paris.2 The Guardian wrote in 2014 that her "cyberpunk girls" helped define that season's Copenhagen Fashion Week.3

By 2014 Designmuseum Danmark had taken pieces of hers into its permanent collection.1 In 2025 AnOther Magazine in London named the label one to know after its return to the Copenhagen Fashion Week schedule.4

The story

Madsen grew up on Funen and studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 2002, taking a master's degree from its School of Design in 2009.1 In between she trained in Paris, at the trend agency Peclers and as an intern with John Galliano, then Dior's head designer, and she later worked for Alexander McQueen.14 She founded her label in 2011 and became known for pairing soft and hard materials and for printing her own illustrations onto garments.1

After 2018 she stepped back from the seasonal calendar to work on costume design and illustration, and in 2025 she brought the label back at Copenhagen Fashion Week.4 The clothes are now made to order in Copenhagen from deadstock fabric, sewn largely by hand and dyed in-house, some with tea.45
