Why it is renowned

The gin won a double gold medal at The Fifty Best gin tasting in New York in 2015.12 Nordisk Brænderi calls it the first wholly Danish-made gin of the new gin wave.3

The story

Nordisk Brænderi launched Edition Northstar on 30 August 2014 at the first birthday of the Copenhagen gin bar The Bird and the Churchkeys, together with the bar and the gin writer Michael Sperling.3 Beside juniper it carries Greenlandic qajaasat, Swedish cloudberries, Icelandic angelica seed and Danish apples, rose hips and elderflower.2 The rose hips and elderflowers are picked by hand in June in West Jutland and around the distillery, and friends of Anders Bilgram pick the qajaasat on the mountainsides of the fjords near Narsaq.23 It is bottled at 44.8% in 50 cl bottles.2
