Why it is renowned
The Tired Man is Flemming Lassen's lounge chair of 1935, from the years when his curved furniture helped shape the Danish modern style.1 Audo makes it again today in plush upholstery, sheepskin among them as a nod to the original.2
The story
Flemming Lassen, an architect who worked with Arne Jacobsen on the House of the Future and Søllerød Town Hall, designed the lounge chair in 1935.1 The legs are oak heartwood, natural or dark-oiled, and the front pair run on brass castors; a matching ottoman goes with it.2
