Why it is renowned

Grand Cru was the Anthon Berg chocolate made from fine cocoa beans from Venezuela, sold as a box of small pieces in three tastes.12

The story

Each box held three kinds. Milk Grand Cru had 34 per cent cocoa; Soft Dark Grand Cru blended dark and milk chocolate to 47 per cent; Dark Grand Cru had 79 per cent.1 Grand Cru was no longer part of the Anthon Berg range in 2025, which by then held marzipan bread, marzipan tarts, gift boxes and Fine Chocolate.3
