Why it is renowned

Beauté Pacifique runs its own shops for countries from Australia, Canada and Japan to Britain, Germany, South Africa and the United States.¹ Its creams have been sold through retailers in the United States, Britain, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Austria, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, South Africa, Australia, Singapore and Taiwan, and in 2012 the Danish model Helena Christensen became its spokesperson.² Crème Métamorphique, its first vitamin A cream, came out in 1997.³

The story

Flemming K. Christensen started Beauté Pacifique in Hadsund in 1997 with his wife Margith and their three children, stirring the first creams in the family kitchen.⁴ He had spent years building ultrasound scanners for examining moles and skin conditions, and the house still uses its own scanner to measure what its products do to the skin.⁴ The creams are made to pharmaceutical GMP standards at GMPack, the family's own plant a kilometre from the head office.⁴ His daughter Amalie Andersen now runs the company.⁴
