Why it is renowned

MOTA has held one Michelin star in every edition of the Nordic Countries guide from 2022 to 2026.1 The Michelin Guide lists it among the restaurants of Zealand for its creative, farm-to-table cooking.2

The story

Chef Claus Henriksen runs MOTA in Anneberg Kulturpark near Nykøbing Sjælland, in a listed red-brick house from the early 20th century.2 The buildings were put up as a psychiatric hospital, and the kitchen keeps that history in the name of its menu, Mørkt og Sygt.3 The produce comes from the farms, woods and fjord of Odsherred: a single menu of 13 servings that changes with the season, served at lunch and dinner.3
