Why it is renowned
The MICHELIN Guide selects Hotel Oasia among its hotels in Aarhus.1 It names the bright, uncluttered rooms in a quieter part of the city, and points to the four-poster room and the design rooms.2
The story
Hotel Oasia stands on Kriegersvej, a few minutes on foot from Aarhus station, ARoS and the town hall.3 Jens Rysgaard bought it in 2010.4 He is the third generation of a family of innkeepers: his grandfather Håkon Rysgaard took over Tambohus Kro on the Limfjord in 1952, and he also owns part of Grand Hotel Struer.4 Under him the hotel grew from 65 to 91 rooms, with new meeting rooms and a fitness room.4 The rooms have plank floors, Hästens beds, furniture made for them by Montana, lounge chairs by Theselius and Kjærholm, and details by Bang & Olufsen.3 Breakfast, with homemade berry compote and granola, is part of the stay.3 The hotel belongs to Stays, the Danish hotel group formerly called Small Danish Hotels.5
