Why it is renowned

Park Lane Copenhagen is a member of the international hotel association SLH, which lists it among four hotels in Denmark.12 The MICHELIN Guide gives it one Key, its mark for a very special stay.3

The story

The hotel stands on Strandvejen in Hellerup, next to the gardens of Øregård Park and a short walk from the sea.3 The building was first home to Strand Teatret, a neighbourhood cinema that closed in the 1970s; it later housed a local hotel and a private members' club.4 In the conversion the stucco ceilings, chandeliers and wood panelling were restored, and the old ballroom became suites.4 It has 69 rooms on three floors, two apartments, a wine bar and the restaurant 2900 at Park Lane, led by the chef Tom Fransson.25
