Why it is renowned
Hypebeast and Highsnobiety both covered the shoe on its release in March 2024, the first collaboration between Wood Wood and ASICS since 2017.12 Hypebeast described its silver tones taken from the ASICS archive and the details Wood Wood added: lace loops, branded heel pulls and a leather heel guard.1
The story
Wood Wood first showed the sneaker at its autumn/winter 2024 show during Copenhagen Fashion Week in January 2024.3 Its colours merge the two colourways of the 2017 DS-Trainer collaboration into one; co-founder Brian SS Jensen called it a continuation of that work.32 The GT-2160 itself grew out of the ASICS GT-2000 of the early 2010s.2
