Why it is renowned

In 2004 the American Podiatric Medical Association gave Sanita's Original Collection its Seal of Acceptance;1 the association still lists Sanita's Professional Clog Collection under the seal.2

The story

Christen Meldgaard Andersen made the first Sanita clogs by hand in Herning in 1907, for local masons, farmers and bakers.31 They were built on wooden soles until 1988, when the flexible SanFlex sole joined them.3 The clogs are still made by hand in Europe.3
