Rains sells on four continents and has its own stores in Copenhagen, Paris, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Glasgow and Shanghai.¹ It shows its collections at Paris Fashion Week.² Vogue Scandinavia profiled the house in an editorial with the footballer Virgil van Dijk wearing its runway collection.¹

The story

Rains grew out of a single design: a new version of the classic rubber raincoat.¹ That coat set the house's coated, waterproof fabrics, which now run through unisex collections of coats, jackets, bags, footwear and homeware.¹ The company is run from a headquarters in the hills above Aarhus, Denmark's second city, built with the architects Sleth in glass, steel, concrete and Nordic pine.¹
