The story
Ole Jensen, who trained at the Arts and Crafts College in Kolding and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, designed Familia for Normann Copenhagen.1 He drew it with the vessels of Mesopotamia some 6,000 years ago in mind.3 The round handles and the plain plates came out of a long development in which every detail that was not needed was taken away.31 The china service took in cups, a jug with a lid, a teapot and plates, made for everyday meals as well as parties.13 By 2026 it was no longer in Normann Copenhagen's range.4
