Why it is renowned

Holmegaard calls the Ship's Glass range one of Per Lütken's most famous designs, with robust, ergonomic shapes.1 It is also named among the classics he made as artistic director, beside the Idéelle glasses and the Provence bowls, and among his best-known series, still sold around the world.23

The story

Per Lütken designed the series for Holmegaard.23 The name means ship's glass in Danish.2 Besides a red wine glass of 21 cl, the range has beer, aquavit and drinks glasses.1
