Why it is renowned

Idéelle is one of the best-known series Per Lütken drew for Holmegaard, named with Skibsglas, No. 5, Selandia and Charlotte Amalie.1 With Skibsglas it became one of the glassworks' greatest successes.2

The story

Lütken drew Idéelle in 1978. As its name says, it was as close to the ideal drinking glass as he then thought possible, with a lighter drinking rim than his glasses before it.2
