Why it is renowned

The Eva Solo tea maker won a gold award at the 2006 Industrial Design Excellence Awards in the United States, credited to Tools Design of Denmark.12 It is still made, with a drip-free spout and a lid that tips open as it pours.3

The story

Tools Design, the Danish studio of Claus Jensen and Henrik Holbæk, founded in 1989, designed it for Eva Solo.43 Tea leaves go straight into the glass flask for long brewing, or into the filter for teas that need only a few minutes; pressing the plunger stops the brew and the leaves stay in the carafe when pouring.3 A zipped neoprene cover keeps the tea warm.3
