Why it is renowned

Wallpaper* counts Hans Bølling's wooden figures, among them his duck with its duckling and the dog Oscar, as his best-known creations, and notes that most of them are made today by Architectmade.1 The house also makes Kristian Vedel's turned oak BIRD, which has been in production since 1959.2

The story

Architectmade was founded in Denmark in 2004.3 It searches archives, museums and drawings for rare objects that architects designed early in their careers, and it works with living architects and new designers.3 Its range runs from Vedel and Bølling to Finn Juhl, Poul Kjærholm, Jørn Utzon and Bjarke Ingels.4 Bølling still calls at its office to look in on the pieces he drew.5
