Why it is renowned

The Model 368 is a reading lamp: the pleated shade tilts at the top joint, so the light can be turned where it is needed.12 It was first shown at a fair in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1979, and caught on through the 1980s in Scandinavian homes.13 The Danish design press names it among Le Klint's best-selling floor lamps, and in black it is the best-selling floor lamp in Le Klint's history.21

The story

Flemming Agger, born in 1944, trained as a cabinetmaker and then studied architecture at the School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen; he has drawn a series of metal lamps for Le Klint.1 He designed the Model 368 in 1979, and it is also called the Agger lamp.3

Its stand is black steel.1 The shade is Le Klint's Model 12, 21 centimetres a side, folded by hand in Odense in paper or in a white foil.1
