Why it is renowned
The Finnish furniture house Artek made the three colours as a one-off edition to mark Wood Wood's 20th anniversary, and sold it in Wood Wood's shops, on its site and in Artek's Helsinki store.1
The story
Wood Wood co-founder Brian SS Jensen, who grew up with the Stool 60 in Danish public spaces, proposed the edition to Artek.21 He tried linseed-oil stains on untreated stools in his garden and chose blue, yellow and pink; Artek turned them into water-based stains applied at its factory, so the grain of the birch still shows.1
