Why it is renowned
Hayden joins Danish and Mediterranean ideas in one sofa: Danish aesthetics and soaped wooden legs, the seat proportions of Italian sofas, and a deep, relaxed seat.1 Its designer, the Spanish architect Ramón Esteve, has won the Red Dot Design Award and the NYCxDesign Award for his product work.2
The story
Ramón Esteve designed Hayden for Bolia in 2020.13 A firm, padded upholstered shell holds the rectangular body, and inside it loose, soft cushions can be moved and combined; the wooden legs appear set into the upholstery.1 Esteve also designed the countryside cottage among vineyards and olive trees where Bolia photographed a spring collection.4
