Why it is renowned
Hifi Pig reviewed the Gro and found that it sounded bigger than its proportions suggest, with an unforced and natural presentation and excellent build.1 Srajan Ebaen reviewed it for 6moons in August 2025.2 The maker says Steve Huff of HiFi Huff named it a new reference in 2026.34
The story
The Gro sits between the Frida stand-mount and the larger Fenja.1 Like the other SV-Audio speakers, it has a front baffle milled from solid aluminium with a sun-inspired pattern drawn by Casper Vestskov Poulsen; aluminium is used for every outer part except the cabinet.1
A 38 mm silk-dome ring radiator tweeter works with two 5-inch woven polypropylene mid/bass cones, matched in pairs before fitting.31 Jens Posselt designed the crossover, a 12 dB Linkwitz-Riley network dividing at 2,750 Hz, and three ports open at the back.1 The speaker bolts to a matching aluminium frame stand.1 Its name comes from Gróa, the seeress of Norse myth, and from the Scandinavian word for growth.3
