Why it is renowned

The DALI 2 was the speaker that first took DALI into the United States.1 By 1986 it was the most popular hi-fi speaker in Denmark, offered at about half the price of comparable models.2

The story

DALI brought out the DALI 2 in 1984 as its first loudspeaker.1 DALI says the value-first approach of that speaker carried on in later models such as the Oberon 3.1 The DALI 6 followed soon after and brought in DALI's soft-dome tweeter.1 The DALI 2 is no longer made, and DALI tells it as the start of its own history.1
